It happened around 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Grafton Avenue and Broadway, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
The victims were transported to University Hospital for evaluation of complaints of pain and both are reportedly in stable condition. The driver remained at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
